Under pressure in polls, Lula intensifies confrontation with Flavio and criticizes adversary's stance regarding the United States

President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva's campaign published on social media this Sunday, the eve of Independence Day, a video comparing the stances of the presidential candidate and his main adversary, Senator Flavio Bolsonaro, regarding the United States. The advertising piece is part of the PT's strategy to take a stand in light of the intensification of the electoral dispute.

The most recent voting intention polls indicate an increasingly tight race, which has generated concern in Lula's campaign team. The Datafolha survey, released on Friday, revealed a technical tie in the runoff, with Lula at 46% and Bolsonaro at 44%, considering the two percentage point margin of error.

In the first round, Lula appears with 38% of voting intentions, while Bolsonaro has 33%. The other candidates have lower percentages, with Augusto Cury (Avante) in third place with 8%, followed by Ronaldo Caiado (PSD) with 4%, Renan Santos (Missão) with 3% and Romeu Zema (Novo) with 2%.

The video published by the campaign mentions the significance of September 7th and reinforces the narrative that the vote this year will determine Brazil's future, warning about the choice between a country that "rises up to protect the nation" or one that "makes itself small."
