Benfica claimed the women's football Super Cup this Sunday by defeating Porto 5-1 at the Fontelo Stadium in Viseu. The goals for the red and whites were scored by Froya Dorsin, Nycole Raysla, Marit Lund, Caroline Moller and Anna Csiki, while Fátima Pinto reduced the deficit for the blue and whites.
The match started intensely and the scoring was opened in the 13th minute, when Froya Dorsin appeared in the box and took advantage of a communication breakdown in the Porto defence. Daniel Pacheco's side managed, however, to react and equalised in the 33rd minute, through a penalty converted by Fátima Pinto.
The equality was broken again before half-time. In the 42nd minute, Nycole Raysla took advantage of another lapse in Porto's backline and restored Benfica's lead. The Porto players still tried to respond, but Lena Pauels denied an equaliser to Mariana Azevedo shortly before the teams went in for the break.
After the restart, the red and whites definitively took control of the match, extending their lead decisively and deservedly winning the Super Cup.
