Queen Margrethe of Denmark, 86 years old, was hospitalized this Sunday at Rigshospitalet (King's Hospital) in Copenhagen due to an indisposition, the Danish Royal House reported. The communiqué did not provide additional details about the health condition of the monarch.
The sovereign, who has been the reigning queen of Denmark for more than five decades, was admitted to the hospital unit in the Danish capital. The Royal House issued a brief communiqué to inform about the hospitalization, without specifying the nature of the indisposition.
This is not the first time that the 86-year-old queen faces health problems in recent years. In January 2023, she suffered a respiratory infection that also resulted in hospitalization, demonstrating recent health vulnerabilities.
The Danish monarchy is one of the oldest in Europe, and Queen Margrethe is widely respected both in the country and abroad. The Danish public closely follows news about her health, considering her central role in the public life of the Nordic country.
