A Maersk, a Danish-origin company that operates in the sectors of maritime transport, logistics, terminals and cabotage, has been present in Brazil for over a hundred years and considers the country one of its five largest operations in the world. The company projects growth of activities in 2026, despite current challenges in Brazilian foreign trade.
The president of Maersk for the East Coast of South America, Ricardo Rocha, which encompasses Brazil, Argentina, Uruguay and Paraguay, states that the company's vertical business model, in which the ship, the warehouse and the terminal belong to the same company, facilitates adaptation and growth of operations in the region.
The executive highlights that Brazil needs to lower costs and scale up its logistics as a strategic priority. The growth projection faces obstacles such as Chinese quotas and the suspension of Brazilian beef purchases by the European Union, factors that have been reducing the volume of cargo transported.
