A first alert dispatch was issued for a wildfire in the towns of Albufeira and Olhos de Água, in the district of Faro. The alert was triggered in response to a fire with vegetation characteristics.
The authorities mobilized 21 operatives to fight the fire, supported by three ground assets and one aerial asset. Aerial assets are essential in combating wildfires to help contain the spread of flames.
The first alert dispatch indicates that the situation requires attention but has not yet reached extreme proportions. Combat operations continue to take place in the field with the available resources.
