Right-wing extremists won the elections in the German state of Saxony-Anhalt. According to electoral projections, the party Alternative for Germany (AfD) will be the most voted in these regional elections.
The projections indicate that the AfD should obtain between 44% and 44.5% of the votes, consolidating itself as the dominant political force in this state in eastern Germany.
The party Alternative for Germany is a right-wing extremist formation that has been gaining significant ground in German politics in recent years, especially in the regions of the former communist bloc.
