GNR investigates possible migrant landing in Sesimbra

The Guarda Nacional Republicana is investigating a possible landing of migrants in the area of Sesimbra, in the district of Setúbal. A rubber boat was found on the coast in the region, raising suspicions that a group of people may have arrived in Portuguese territory by sea.

The authorities initiated search operations both by sea and land, with the objective of locating the people who allegedly landed. The searches are taking place in the coastal areas and on land in the vicinity of where the boat was discovered.

The case is being monitored by the Portuguese authorities, who have not yet provided concrete numbers on how many people may have landed or when the alleged landing occurred. The investigation remains ongoing to clarify the circumstances of what happened.
