The futsal Super Cup derby took place at the Sports Pavilion in Vila do Conde and ended with a victory for Sporting. Benfica was very unhappy with the refereeing team's performance during the match, having filed formal complaints about some of the referees' decisions.
Benfica's coach, Cassiano Klein, publicly disagreed with the club's position regarding the refereeing. Klein stated that "Portuguese refereeing is one of the best in the world" and that "it's not easy to referee a game with so much intensity," considering that the controversial play that resulted in a goal being disallowed for his team was just a matter of interpretation.
The Eagles' coach preferred to highlight the players' commitment throughout the 40 minutes and extra time. According to Klein, the most positive aspect of his team's performance was giving everything on the field and going to the limit, regardless of the result.
Cassiano Klein also acknowledged that Sporting deserved to win the derby, considering the final result fair, given the balance shown by both teams throughout the match.
