The driver Kimi Antonelli secured victory at the Monza Grand Prix, ending a 60-year drought without Italian victories at the Italian circuit. The last time an Italian had won at Monza was in 1966, with Ludovico Scarfiotti.

With this victory, Antonelli extended his lead in the championship standings over George Russell to 66 points, consolidating his position at the top of the season.
