Antonelli wins at Monza and leads the World Championship

Kimi Antonelli won the Italian Grand Prix at Monza, in an impressive race that took him from 19th starting position to victory. The young German driver of Italian descent thus achieved his first triumph in his team's home race, Mercedes.

With this victory, Antonelli takes the lead in the Formula 1 World Championship, reinforcing his status as one of the great promises of motorsport. The performance at Monza was particularly remarkable for the way he managed to recover ground throughout the race.

This triumph also has a historic significance: it is the first time since 1966 that an Italian driver wins the Italian Grand Prix, breaking a drought of almost 60 years for local drivers in this iconic race.
