At least 25 people died in a bus accident that occurred on Saturday, on the island of Fogo, in Cape Verde. The vehicle was carrying students on a school trip when it left the road and fell from a height of approximately 30 meters, in Campanas de Cima.
The fatalities include students and possibly other passengers on the bus. There are also 18 injured people who remain hospitalized, the majority of whom are children.
Among the injured, four are in serious condition, which raises the toll of victims beyond the 25 confirmed deaths. Local authorities continue to investigate the causes of the accident.
