The PSD deputy Francisco Figueira, elected for the electoral constituency of Évora, considered today that Alentejo "lived a historic moment" with the inauguration of the Eastern Variant of Évora of the Main Itinerary 2 (IP2). In a statement sent to the Lusitan news agency, the deputy highlighted the importance of this infrastructure for the region.
Figueira criticized the former "Governo da Geringonça," composed of PS with support from PCP and BE, regarding the process of this variant. The deputy highlighted that this work represents a significant advance for the accessibility of Alentejo and for the population of the region.
The Eastern Variant of Évora of IP2 constitutes a new road infrastructure that aims to improve connections in the Alentejo region, facilitating traffic and contributing to local development. PSD highlighted that this opening marks an important moment for mobility and territorial cohesion of the region.
