Paulo Eduardo Gomes Dies, Former Councilor and Historical Leader of Niterói Politics

The former councilor of Niterói, Paulo Eduardo Gomes, died on Saturday night (5), at the age of 75. Known as "PEG" by friends and party companions, he was battling cancer. The information about the death was shared on his social media this Sunday (6).

Paulo Eduardo Gomes was one of the founders of the Workers' Party (PT) and, later, participated in the construction of the PSOL, the party he was affiliated with. Throughout his political career, he ran for Mayor of Niterói twice and served as councilor, with significant vote counts.

The wake will be held at the Niterói City Council, from 3 PM to 7 PM. The burial is scheduled for Monday (7), at Parque da Colina, in Pendotiba, at Chapel 2, from 12:45 PM to 2:45 PM.
