The University of Coimbra, in partnership with the Academic Association of Coimbra, will hold between September 7 and 11 the Welcome and Integration Week, an initiative aimed at integrating new students into academic life, the city's life and the community of the oldest university in the country. The Rector of UC, Amílcar Falcão, stated that the university will welcome new students "as a family", showing everything it has to offer throughout their higher education journey.
The week's program includes several activities. On Monday, the 7th, activities run by the Faculties, Departments and student groups will take place. On Tuesday, the 8th, during the morning activities continue at the Faculties and, during the afternoon, the peddy paper "Get to know UC, Get to know AAC, Get to know Coimbra" takes place, followed by a village festival in the AAC Gardens.
On Wednesday, the 9th, a forum will be held to present the PAI – Welcome and Integration Program, at Largo da Porta Férrea, at 10:00, followed by participatory dynamics about UC's values with the participation of the Connecters from UC Connect. During the afternoon, from 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM, the "Universo UC" exhibition takes place on Rua Larga, where students can learn about the university's services, mobility projects and innovation initiatives.
Still on the 9th, starting at 8:30 PM, at Largo da Porta Férrea, the Calema concert takes place with opening act by the Big Band Rags of the UC Academic Tuners, with free admission. After the welcome messages from the Rector and the president of the AAC Board of Directors, José Machado, the concert will be followed by the performance of DJ Luís Pinheiro. On Thursday, the 10th, and Friday, the 11th, activities continue at the Faculties, ending on the 10th with a village festival at Pólo II.
