Tesla is preparing the Semi to enter the European market, at a time when the brand's electric truck is finally beginning to gain scale in the United States. The company confirmed it will reveal the specifications and European launch details at IAA Transportation, in Hannover, Germany, between September 15 and 20.
The event in Germany represents an opportunity for Tesla to showcase the Semi's capabilities in the European market, where it faces competition from other heavy electric vehicle manufacturers. The presence at IAA Transportation is seen as a strategic step for the truck's international expansion.
In the North American market, the Semi is achieving important production and delivery milestones. An order of 500 trucks was registered as a record, demonstrating the growing interest of major logistics and transportation companies in the vehicle.
Tesla expects that entry into the European market will help further boost Semi's production, which has faced scale challenges since its initial announcement. Elon Musk's company believes that success in Europe can reinforce the Semi's position as a viable alternative to traditional diesel trucks.
