A survey by the dating app happn, released on the eve of Sex Day, celebrated on September 6, indicates that a portion of Brazilian singles is changing the way they view intimate life. The survey shows that 51% of respondents consider sexual health a fundamental pillar of emotional balance and quality of life. The perception of the importance of sexuality for well-being becomes stronger with advancing age: among people aged 18 to 25, the rate is 41%, while among those aged 36 or older, it rises to 58%. The data suggests a paradigm shift in the way intimacy is viewed. Instead of associating the sexual experience solely with the logic of performance, part of the respondents points to a broader vision of well-being, which involves mental health, confidence, comfort, and self-knowledge. The survey also mentions studies on the so-called "compassionate sex," which investigates why women maintain sexual relationships even without feeling desire.
