A study analyzed Europeans' preference regarding heat waves. The results show that in most countries analyzed, between 41% and 48% of respondents give priority to the use of air conditioning to reduce the effects of extreme temperatures.

Italy stands out as an exception to this trend. The study did not specify which other countries were included in the analysis or the exact figures for each country.

When it comes to alternatives, between 20% and 33% of Europeans prefer to prioritize cutting CO2 emissions rather than using air conditioning. This difference in preferences highlights the tension between immediate thermal comfort and environmental concerns related to carbon emissions.
