A recent study revealed that 85% of Portuguese young people aged between 9 and 17 years old have already used artificial intelligence tools. This high rate demonstrates the rapid adoption of this technology among the young population in Portugal.

The most common use is for school work, with 47% of surveyed young people admitting to having used generative AI tools to help with academic tasks.

Scammers are using a technique called spoofing to falsify telephone call identification, making legitimate bank numbers or the Portuguese Banking Association (APB) appear on victims' phones. This practice allows a legitimate entity's number to appear on the screen, but the call is made from another location. APB recently issued an alert about scammers presenting themselves falsely as bank employees, taking advantage of the trust generated by the real number to try to obtain victims' banking data.
