Kid won't get off the phone? New iPhone operating system will have a 'punishment button'

Apple will launch this month iOS 27, the new version of the iPhone operating system, which will include a feature nicknamed the "punishment button." This is a parental control functionality that allows parents to block all apps on their children's devices at once, functioning as an extreme measure for moments when children and teenagers are excessively distracted by the digital world.

The feature is officially called "Pause Device Usage" and is part of a broader set of parental control tools that Apple is implementing on its devices. The functionality will be available from mid-September for all users.
