Silvia Vilar and Ramón, her husband, neighbors from the Spanish town of Nules, lived a terrifying experience during an earthquake in Colombia in the month of August. The couple was in the South American country as tourists when they were surprised by the natural phenomenon.
When choosing a tourist destination, travelers usually consider attractions such as the gastronomy, the culture, and the leisure options of the place. The possibility of being a victim of a natural catastrophe is normally not among a visitor's concerns, as Silvia points out.
Silvia stated that, if people worried about catastrophes when traveling, they simply wouldn't leave home. For someone who has never experienced an earthquake, the experience is terrifying.
The survivor described that, during the minute that the tremor lasted, a thousand thoughts go through your head and the only wish is that everything stops.
