An extreme meteorological phenomenon hit the municipalities of Albergaria-a-Velha and Oliveira de Azeméis, both belonging to the district of Aveiro. The event caused hail of significant dimensions in several parishes of these localities.
In some parishes of the two municipalities, hail stones of approximately three centimeters in diameter were recorded. The intensity of the phenomenon was sufficient to be classified as extreme by the meteorological authorities.
At the time of writing the news, no victims were reported as a result of this meteorological episode. Local authorities continue to monitor the situation in the affected areas.
