Nepalese authorities raised this Saturday to more than 1,300 the number of dead due to the devastating floods that occurred in the country on August 26. The floods caused large-scale destruction in the region.
Among the rescued survivors is a worker who was found alive inside a hydroelectric tunnel, demonstrating the complexity of the rescue operations that continue to be carried out in the areas affected by the catastrophe.
A woman was also rescued alive after being trapped inside her home during the floods, showing that there is still hope of finding more survivors among the rubble and flooded areas.
The number of missing people stands at around 5,000, raising concerns about the final toll of this tragedy, which is already considered one of the worst natural disasters Nepal has faced in recent years.
