The Brazilian Alison dos Santos won the 400-meter hurdles event at the final stage of the 2026 Diamond League in Brussels, Belgium. The athlete finished the race with a time of 46 seconds and 70 hundredths, securing victory in the competition.
With this victory, Alison dos Santos became a three-time overall champion of the Diamond League, repeating the titles won in 2022 and 2024. The athlete, known as Piu, is currently the world record holder of the event at 26 years of age.
Last month, Alison set the best mark in history in the 400-meter hurdles, consolidating his place as the greatest athlete in history in this event.
In addition to the Diamond League titles, the Brazilian has in his resume bronze medals at the 2020 Tokyo and 2024 Paris Olympic Games, as well as the gold medal won at the 2019 Pan American Games in Lima.
