Review: Sepultura bids farewell to Rock in Rio with the weight and competence as always

The Minas Gerais band Sepultura took the Palco Mundo stage at Rock in Rio this Saturday for their last performance at the festival and in Rio de Janeiro. The group, founded in Belo Horizonte in 1984 and a protagonist of the event since its second edition in 1991, is on a farewell tour, which will conclude on November 7th in São Paulo. The fans, many wearing black shirts under plastic rain ponchos, were already waiting with screams of "Se-pul-tu-ra!" before the show even started.

The presentation began promptly at 4:40 PM, with drummer Greyson Nekrutman, just 24 years old, starting the show with the songs "Against" and "Choke," the latter with almost hardcore influences. Nekrutman, who is less than half the age of the other band members, demonstrated his competence from the start of the performance.

The large LED screens of Palco Mundo helped the metal crowd dive into the heavy atmosphere characteristic of the quartet. The review highlights that the band maintained their usual weight and competence in this farewell, even under the rain that marked the afternoon of the event.
