The National Teachers' Union (SINPROF) has called four periods of strike action in Angola, with the first scheduled for September 21. The strike comes as a protest against the alleged non-compliance with an agreement signed with the Angolan executive in January. SINPROF decided to proceed with these industrial actions after considering that the government had not honored the previous agreement. This is one of the major strike movements in the education sector in the country, reflecting teachers' dissatisfaction with working conditions and the fulfillment of commitments made by the executive branch.
