The Portuguese Communist Party considered that the Executive led by Luís Montenegro let itself be dragged along by the controversies of the Ministry of Internal Administration, thus extending the responsibility to the entire Government and not just to the minister in question.
Paulo Raimundo, Secretary-General of the PCP, was the voice of this critical position against the Executive, stating that the way the Government dealt with the MAI controversies demonstrates a lack of direction and leadership on the part of the Prime Minister.
The communist leader revealed that the party's bodies have already taken a decision on the voting direction regarding the motion under discussion, however keeping that position confidential and refusing to publicly anticipate the communists' choice.
