In the footage, Lula was standing on the bed of a pickup truck when the supporter tried to climb onto the vehicle, wrapped her arms around the president's neck and pulled him down. Janja, who was standing beside her husband, intervened to push the woman's arms away and free the president from her grip.
After the incident, the video was shared on X by accounts that criticized the first lady. A social media user, a supporter of former governor Ciro Gomes, wrote that "this woman drives away more votes for Lula than any corruption scandal or opponent."
