The leader of Chega, André Ventura, considered that the rejection of the motion of censure against the Government by the opposition parties reveals a "kind of courage schizophrenia" on their part. The accusation arose during a back-to-school initiative of the Lisbon district of Chega, held in Loures.
Ventura criticized the opposition parties for recognizing Chega's arguments against the Executive, but voting against the motion of censure. For the leader of Chega, this position demonstrates an incoherence between the speech and the action of the parties that make up the parliamentary opposition.
The motion of censure presented by Chega aimed to demonstrate the lack of conditions of the current Government to continue governing. However, the rejection of the initiative was expected, since the right and center-right, which support the Executive, hold a majority in the Assembly of the Republic.
