An ancient Roman port linked to Capernaum, which remained partially hidden for almost two millennia along the waters of the Sea of Galilee, partially re-emerged to the surface due to the drop in the lake's water level. The revelation of this archaeological structure occurred at a time when water conditions allowed the exposure of remains that had been hidden for almost two thousand years.

The discovery is associated with the region of Capernaum, a locality of great biblical importance as it was one of the main centers of Jesus Christ's activity during his ministry. The port would have been an infrastructure used during the Roman period in Galilee.

The reemergence of this structure has generated great enthusiasm among archaeologists, who see it as a unique opportunity to study and better understand daily life and commercial activities in the region during the Roman era. The exposure of the remains now allows for a more detailed analysis of maritime practices and port organization of the time.
