President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva (PT) held a campaign event in São José do Rio Preto (SP) this Saturday (5) to support the candidacy of Fernanda Haddad for governor of São Paulo. The event, titled "SP Pronto para Mais" (SP Ready for More), featured other leaders from the alliance, including Geraldo Alckmin (PSB), Marina Silva (Rede), Simone Tebet (PSB), and Márcio França (PSB), as well as candidates for the state and federal legislatures.
Lula directed criticism at Governor Tarcísio de Freitas (Republicanos), his main adversary in the state, and asked for votes for the PT candidate. The offensive against Bolsonaro-ism marked the speeches of allies during the event.
Haddad was one of the most incisive in his attacks. The PT candidate criticized São Paulo's drop in the high school ranking during the administrations of João Doria and Tarcísio de Freitas. Additionally, he directly attacked Senator Flavio Bolsonaro (PL), a candidate for President, citing the purchase of properties with cash and a deal involving Banco Master.
