Ukraine: Volodymyr Zelensky orders suspension of attacks against Russia

SAPO Notícias5 September 2026 at 16:34

The President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky, ordered the suspension of attacks against Russia. The decision was made due to the visit of United States envoys, during this weekend, to the Russian and Ukrainian capitals. The American envoys traveled to both Moscow and Kiev to hold talks with the leaders of both countries. Zelensky took the decision to cease military operations against Russian territory while these diplomatic negotiations were taking place. This temporary suspension of hostilities comes in a context of international efforts to find a solution to the conflict between Ukraine and Russia.
