Spanish government controls Ceuta port to house migrants

The Spanish government approved a decree to take control of the Ceuta port. This measure allows the executive to directly intervene in the management of the port infrastructure of the autonomous city.

The decree authorizes the installation of tents to temporarily house the migrants. The designated area for this installation is located in the Poniente breakwater, an area of the Ceuta port.

The objective is to accommodate more than a thousand migrants who arrived in the city through land and sea borders. Ceuta, as a Spanish enclave on Moroccan territory, has frequently been the scene of significant migratory flows.
