The former mayor of Gaia was acquitted of the crimes of prevarication and embezzlement he was accused of. The court decided on the acquittal of the defendant in this case.

According to the public accusation, the municipality had covered approximately 16 thousand euros in undue expenses. These expenses included, namely, the purchase of football tickets.

The case concerned alleged expenses incurred by the former mayor that were to have been covered by the municipal treasury, without proper justification or authorization.
