Anne Carson, after attending a Rosalía concert in Chicago: "Do I envy her? Of course I do. She is the personification of glamour and feminine strength"

Canadian poet and perennial Nobel Prize contender Anne Carson attended Rosalía's concert in Chicago at the United Center on June 20. The Catalan artist left Carson exhausted and experiencing what she described as "Rosalía hangover." Carson wrote an essay titled "On Rosalía" published in the London Review of Books, in which she recalls the concert experience with her characteristic poetic style.

In the essay, Carson analyzes how a pop star relates to their followers and vice versa. The Canadian poet, an expert in classical cultures, uses her academic and literary perspective to examine this contemporary cultural dynamic.

Carson describes Rosalía as "the personification of glamour and female strength" and openly admits her envy of the Catalan artist. The admiration between two creators from different generations and artistic genres manifests in this encounter between the award-winning poet and the pop star.
