The president of the Community of Madrid, Isabel Díaz Ayuso, stated this Saturday that "the money of the people of Madrid will not be touched and whoever touches it will pay for it". "That I swear," underlined the regional leader, criticizing the reform of the autonomic financing system approved on Friday by the Council for Fiscal and Financial Policy (CPFF).
The event took place in Getafe, in the Community of Madrid, during the start of the new political year of the PP of Madrid, with the presence of the national leader of the party, Alberto Núñez Feijóo. Ayuso considered that this region is the most harmed "by far" by the reform of autonomic financing.
According to the Madrid president, the reform was approved counting only with the support of Catalonia and the Canary Islands, which demonstrates the political isolation of the measure. Ayuso made these declarations as a way to guarantee to the taxpayers of Madrid that their resources will not be affected by the new financial distribution among autonomous communities.
