Benfica will face Gil Vicente in the League Cup quarter-finals, in a single match scheduled for October 29 at 8:45 PM, at the Estádio da Luz. The team coached by Marco Silva will be the last of the eight teams in the competition to take to the pitch at this stage of the competition.
The match marks Benfica's reunion with Diogo Prioste, who previously represented the club. The encounter against the Barcelense side is worth a place in the competition's Final Four, scheduled for January 2027.
Benfica are the current League Cup champions, having won the 2024/2025 edition. In the final, the Eagles defeated rivals Sporting at Estádio de Leiria, after a 1-1 draw in regular time and a 7-6 victory in the penalty shootout.
The remaining quarter-final matches are already set. Sporting face Marítimo on October 27 at 8:15 PM, Porto host Académico the following day at 8:30 PM, and on October 30 Braga take on Famalicão at 6:45 PM.
