China sent donations exceeding 660 million yuan, equivalent to more than 84 million euros, to support the victims of the floods that hit the Tibetan county of Gyirong last week. The data was disclosed by Chinese authorities and represent the total value of aid destined for emergency work in the affected region.
China's Ministry of Civil Affairs was the entity responsible for coordinating the fundraising efforts. According to the ministry, 29 online fundraising platforms were mobilized, as well as several charitable organizations, to collect contributions destined for the victims of the catastrophe.
The donations were channeled according to the specific needs of the affected area, ensuring that resources reached the most needy areas. This massive mobilization of financial resources is part of the Chinese government's response to the emergency caused by the floods in Tibet.
