Official! Benfica renews with box-to-box midfielder until 2029

Benfica officially announced the contract renewal with box-to-box midfielder Carolina Tristão until 2029. The 17-year-old, who has been part of the reds' squad since August 2024, when she arrived at just 15 years old, now sees her link with the club extended for another season.

Carolina Tristão arrived at Benfica after spells at Sporting de Braga, Leça do Balio and SC Vilar Pinheiro. The young player from Madeira, born in São Vicente, made her debut for the first team in the Super Cup against Torreense last season, immediately showing her potential.

In the 2025/26 season, Carolina Tristão took part in 23 games for Benfica, scoring one goal and providing one assist. The Portuguese international for the youth national teams demonstrated the consistency and quality that justified the club's bet on renewing her contract.

In statements to BTV, Carolina Tristão said that last season was one of adaptation to the pace of the first team, highlighting that her teammates helped her greatly in this process. The player expressed happiness about the renewal and considered it an important step in her career, emphasizing that the club believing in her is fundamental for her development.
