It will be his first appearance at competitions after weeks involved in controversy with UEFA, which threatened to boycott the entity's tournaments. The information was confirmed by the French newspaper L'Equipe together with a spokesperson for the Polish Football Association.
The Under-20 Women's World Cup would have been the first tournament affected by the boycott proposed by UEFA, which was ultimately suspended on the 27th. The European confederation came into conflict with Infantino after the failed attempt by the leader to open FIFA and its tournaments to private investors, the project called FIFA Forward.
UEFA had threatened to boycott the entity's tournaments in response to the project, which would allow private investors' participation in the main championships organized by FIFA. However, the European confederation ultimately backed down after an agreement.
FIFA confirmed in writing to UEFA that the FIFA Forward project was withdrawn irrevocably and definitively and that it would not resurface in any other form, structure, or denomination. With the suspension of the boycott, Infantino was able to resume his presence at the entity's events.
