The UGT union reported that two health transport ambulances were fined on Thursday with 200 euros each while picking up dialysis patients at Elda General Hospital. The union considers it an "outrage" that emergency health technicians are fined while carrying out their work.
The Elda Town Council acknowledges that there was a fine, but states that it was applied to only one driver, contradicting the union's information which mentions two ambulances being sanctioned.
The problem, according to UGT, highlights the lack of adequate spaces for these vehicles within the hospital premises, which forces technicians to park in areas where they are fined while carrying out their patient pickup tasks.
