Fachin considers taking over case rapporteurship

The president of the Supreme Federal Court, Edson Fachin, consulted colleagues on the possibility of taking over the investigations involving banker Daniel Vorcaro and Banco Master. The alternative, which depends on plenary approval, would aim to contain an unprecedented crisis in the Court's history. The crisis involves suspicions about the conduct of magistrates and an open confrontation between justices Alexandre de Moraes and André Mendonça. Another possibility would be for Fachin to only take the part of the investigation that involves the mentions to Moraes and four other justices.
