The Portuguese Air Force was activated on Thursday night to carry out a transport mission for a patient who required urgent medical support. The operation took place between the island of Porto Santo and the island of Madeira.

For this mission, a C-295M aircraft belonging to Squadron 502, known by the nickname "Elephants", was deployed. The aerial unit is specialized in transport and logistical support missions.

The information about this operation was confirmed and published on the official account of the Portuguese Air Force on Friday night, one day after the mission was carried out.
