Cambridge University announced an independent investigation following the death of Professor Jason Arday, who in 2023 became the youngest Black professor at the British university.
Jason Arday was found dead at a residence in south London. The professor had been subjected to intense media scrutiny in the weeks prior to his death.
During that period, weeks of headlines emerged alleging plagiarism in his academic work, which is believed to have contributed to the pressure he was under.
The university has now decided to order an independent investigation to clarify the circumstances surrounding the case.
