Labor court judge Lirton Nogueira Santos was inaugurated as the newest member of the Piauí Academy of Letters (APL), assuming seat number 30, which had as its patron the Academic Álvaro dos Santos Pacheco. The ceremony was held with the institution's president, Fonseca Neto, as host.
With the inauguration, the labor court judge officially joins the roster of immortals of the APL, a centennial institution that brings together writers, poets, and intellectuals from the state of Piauí. The term "immortals" is traditionally used to refer to members of literary academies in Brazil.
Lirton Nogueira Santos directly succeeds Álvaro dos Santos Pacheco in seat 30, maintaining the tradition of passing on literary knowledge among the academy's members. The ceremony marked the entry of a new name in the history of Piauí literature.
