Five years ago, Morocco normalized its relations with Israel through the Abraham Accords, and since then military cooperation between the two countries has advanced significantly. According to the Stockholm International Peace Research Institute (SIPRI), the Israeli military industry replaced France as the second largest arms supplier to Rabat, representing 24% of the market, behind only the United States, which holds 60% of the country's weapons imports.
The main equipment acquired includes air defense systems, drones, radars, and precision artillery. However, the relationship between the two countries goes beyond arms trade. Earlier this year, Israel and Morocco signed the so-called "joint military work plan," with the aim of deepening bilateral cooperation.
This plan includes the creation of structures for permanent dialogue between the armies of the two countries, joint industrial projects, military maneuvers for the development of capabilities, and strategic alignment against emerging threats, according to information from the Israeli press.
