University puts AI chatbot to teach Psychology

Correio da Manhã5 September 2026 at 01:30

A university in Australia is using an artificial intelligence chatbot to teach Psychology to its students. The virtual assistant is being applied in two subjects of the course, partially replacing traditional teaching.

Students interact with the chatbot to learn Psychology content. This approach allows students to access academic material in an automated and personalized way.

In one of the semesters, students have no face-to-face classes, relying exclusively on the chatbot as a teaching tool. This experience raises questions about the future of higher education and the role of technology in academic training.

Artificial intelligence helps identify factors that most influence biogas production in landfills

A project that combines biotechnology, artificial intelligence and data analysis seeks to identify the factors that influence methane generation in landfills and improve the performance of biogas collection wells. Developed within the scope of project INT 14/2023, with researcher Alvaro Viana leading the research, which will be conducted in a real landfill in Rio de Janeiro with funding from FAPERJ. The initiative aims to work mainly on wells with low biogas production, using data analysis to identify conditions that interfere with gas generation and indicate the appropriate amount of compounds to optimize production.
