Cambridge University has opened an independent investigation following the death of a professor who was targeted by a hate campaign. Jason Arday, aged 41, resigned from his position as Professor of Sociology of Education at the university after plagiarism accusations.
His appointment as the youngest Black professor in Cambridge's history, at age 37, in 2023, was hailed at the time as a progressive milestone. The case is now being investigated by British academic authorities.
