Detonautas Roque Clube performed on the Sunset Stage at Rock in Rio, being introduced by the festival's artistic director, Zé Ricardo, as one of the most important bands in the history of Brazilian rock. The group, led by Tico Santa Cruz, holds relevance in the generation of new bands that emerged in Rio de Janeiro in the early 2000s. This was the band's fifth performance at the festival.
In terms of show strategy, the quintet chose to string together some of their biggest hits in the first block of the performance. The show started off lukewarm with the song "Potinho de veneno," a recent work that did not generate audience participation. However, the band gained momentum starting from the third song on the setlist.
The song "Quando o sol se for" was pointed out as the moment the show got going, being considered probably the band's most famous. The Rio de Janeiro group was formed in the late 1990s in a chat room on the UOL portal, which demonstrates the band's digital origins from its very beginning.
