The municipal chambers of Montemor-o-Novo and Cuba celebrated a Cooperation Protocol aimed at strengthening the close relations between the two Alentejo municipalities. The ceremony formalized a partnership based on the historical connection linking these two towns through the Alentejo Railway Line, specifically through the railway connection between Casa Branca and Cuba.
The protocol establishes priority areas of collaboration that include culture, sports, youth, and territorial valorization. These areas were identified as common points of interest that can benefit both communities through joint actions and resource sharing.
The railway connection between Casa Branca and Cuba constitutes the central element justifying this cooperation, representing a shared historical heritage between the two municipalities. This transportation infrastructure has symbolic and practical significance for both populations of the Alentejo region.
With this agreement, Montemor-o-Novo and Cuba intend to deepen institutional cooperation between the two municipalities, creating conditions for joint projects that can energize their respective communities and take advantage of existing affinities.
