Portuguese tennis player Jaime Faria was today eliminated in the first round of doubles at the US Open, the fourth Grand Slam of the tennis season. This was his debut in the doubles competition of this tournament.
Faria was playing in partnership with Australian Adam Walton. The Portuguese-Australian duo was defeated by Germans Kevin Krawietz and Tim Puetz, who advanced to the next round.
The US Open is the fourth and final Grand Slam of the year, following the Australian Open, Roland Garros and Wimbledon. Faria's elimination represents the end of his participation in the New York tournament.
